What to Pair with Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc
Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough New Zealand is a refreshing white wine that has all the qualities you would expect from a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. This wine is very clean, and full of passion fruit, pineapple and citrus flavours. It’s also herbaceous, with a lovely grassy streak. This is a very food friendly wine that will go with a wide variety of foods. Here are four suggestions we recommend pairing with Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc.Spinach and Goat Cheese Salad with Sauvignon Blanc
Spinach is an earthy and bitter type of food which Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc plays well with due to its grassy and herbaceous nature. Goat Cheese on the other hand needs a little tang, and the citrus nature of Sauvignon Blanc brings out the best in this cheese. As for a salad dressing, we’d suggest Vinaigrette. Sauvignon Blanc is an acidic wine and it will be right at home with a zippy dressing.Vegetarian Soup and Sauvignon Blanc
Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc will go great with a variety of soups, but we feel Vegetarian Soup is the best match. Sauvignon Blanc loves vegetables due to its herbaceous and grassy quality. This would be a great wine to pair with Minestrone soup enhanced by some fresh herbs. If you go in the meaty direction for your soups, try to stick to chicken or pork. Rich beef soups paired with this wine are fine, but they won’t be exceptional.Oysters and Sauvignon Blanc
Oysters are such a clean dish, and Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc is a clean wine. As such the wine will show off the pureness of the oysters, and not mask any of their delicious flavours. We are also huge fans of Grilled Sword Fish and Sauvignon Blanc for the same reasons.Vegetarian Lasagna
Vegetarian Lasagna is full of lots of acidic ingredients like tomatoes, zucchini. The sharpness of Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc complements these flavours nicely. Meanwhile the grassiness of the wine will pair well with the bell peppers, onions and carrots that might be in the Lasagna.Written by: Joel Baxter
